LAWS AND RULES
A state government reorganization in 1974 created the Department of Self-Governing Agencies and the Idaho Division of Occupational and Professional Licenses (the Division). The Division is empowered by Idaho Law and Rule to provide administrative, investigative, fiscal, and legal services to the boards it serves. This arrangement allows several boards to share resources and the costs of operation while maintaining each board's independence.
MISSION
Protecting the health, safety and welfare of Idaho’s citizens while reducing barriers and creating pathways to licensing for Idaho’s business economy.
VISION
Foster public wellness while facilitating a healthy business atmosphere.
The Division's operation depends solely on dedicated funds generated through renewals, applications, and examination fees. Neither tax dollars nor other funds from Idaho's General Fund are used for the operation of the Division.
